Description

Asarum canadense, or Wild Ginger, is an attractive native groundcover with lustrous dark green, kidney-shaped foliage with unique red-brown jug-like flowers. This perennial groundcover requires moist, well-drained soil and partial to full shade. Wild ginger spreads slowly through underground rhizomes. The roots produce a smell like culinary ginger, but the plants are not related.
