Sporobolus heterolepsis, or Northern Dropseed, is an attractive, clump-forming warm-season grass with fine-textured blades and an arching fountain form. Northern Dropseed’s foliage turns pumpkin orange to golden bronze in the fall. Its seeds are an important food source for songbirds and game birds in the fall.
