Liatris scariosa, or Eastern Blazing Star, is a two-foot-tall perennial preferring dry soils in part sun. Eastern Blazing Star’s rose-purple flower spikes appear in late summer from August to September. The plant attracts Monarch butterflies, hummingbirds and other butterflies.
