Red Milkweed
Description
Asclepias incarnata, or Red Milkweed, is a 3-5 foot perennial perfect for full sun and moist to wet soils. Red Milkweed, or Swamp Milkweed, blooms with reddish flowers from June to July. Its leaves are the preferred food of Monarch caterpillars and it attracts many butterflies, as well as hummingbirds.
Asclepias incarnata is also commonly known as Swamp Milkweed and Rose Milkweed.
