Chasmanthium latifolium
Sea Oats
$70.00
Description
Chasmanthium latifolium, or Sea Oats, is a 3-4 foot tall, showy grass for moist soils in sun to shade. The dense clumps of its dark green leaves end in open clusters of flowers in late summer and are followed by attractive, flat, drooping seed heads. Sea Oats’ foliage turns purplish-bronze in fall and provides food and cover for wildlife. Seat Oats makes a great addition to dried flower arrangements. The grass brings great contrast and texture year-round to borders, shade gardens, naturalized areas, along streams, and on the edges of a water garden.
Chasmanthium latifolium is also commonly known as Indian Wood Oats and Northern Sea Oats.
