Description
Thalictrum dasycarpum, or Purple Meadow Rue, is a 3-5 foot, herbaceous perennial that prefers full to part sun in medium to moist soils. The native perennial produces slender, white-yellow, tassel-like blooms from sturdy, purplish stems in early to mid-summer. It is also deer tolerant. The plants are dioecious, meaning male and female flowers grow on separate plants. Purple Meadow Rue is found in woodland borders and openings, floodplains, woodland savannas, and thickets. It also makes a unique background plant in a garden bed.
